PENDAHULUAN
1.1 Latar Belakang
Pemeriksaan suhu merupakan salah satu pemeriksaan yang digunakan untuk menilai kondisi metabolisme dalam tubuh, dimana tubuh menghasilkan panas secara kimiawi melalui metabolisme darah. Kompres adalah metode pemeliharaan suhu tubuh dengan menggunakan cairan atau alat yang dapat menimbulkan hangat atau dingin pada bagian tubuh yang memerlukan. Kompres dilakukan untuk mengurangi panas, bengkak atau nyeri pada berbagai bagian tubuh (Pengertian kompres).
Ada dua jenis kompres, yaitu : kompres panas atau hangat dan kompres dingin. Dimana dalam laporan ini dijelaskan mengenai kompres hangat.
Dari penelitian sebelumnya yang dilakukan oleh Rahmawati,dkk di Ruang Anak RS “X” Bandung tahun 2013 menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap penurunan suhu tubuh sebelum dan setelah intervensi pemberian kompres hangat di daerah axilla dan di frontal. Hal ini menarik perhatian penulis untuk mengimplikasikannya di Ruang Perawatan Umum RSUD Kota Tangerang.
Kejadian di lapangan menunjukkan dari beberapa pasien yang mengalami peningkatan suhu tubuh mencapai 39 °C yang diamati dari tanggal 21 – 22 November 2015 di RSUD Kota Tangerang ada 5 pasien yang mengalami peningkatan suhu. Melihat kasus tersebut penulis ingin mengamati lebih lanjut Kompres Hangat Pada Pasien Febris di Ruang Perawatan Umum RSUD Kota Tangerang.
1.2 Rumusan Masalah
Berdasarkan latar belakang diatas, maka rumusan masalah dalam implikasi jurnal ini adalah “Kompres Hangat Pada Pasien Febris di Ruang Perawatan Umum RSUD Kota Tangerang”.
